Presale Bids

Pre sale bids are placed before the auction.

Once the auction starts, the starting bid is determined as follows:

1.)  No pre sale bids: default starting bid, up for bidding.

2.)  One pre sale bid: starting bid for pre sale bidder, asking bid one increment up, pre sale bidder will bid with the pre sale bid he placed against other bidders, this will happen automatically.  The auction clerk can not distinguish between a pre sale bid and an online bid

3.)  Two or more pre sale bids, only one being the highest: The second highest pre sale bid plus one increment goes to the highest pre sale bidder, asking bid is that plus one increment.  Pre sale bidder will bid with the pre sale bid he placed against other bidders, this will happen automatically.  The auction clerk can not distinguish between a pre sale bid and an online bid.

4.)  Two or more pre sale bids, but two are exactly the same:  Pre sale bidder who placed his pre sale bid first gets the first bid at his pre sale bid, asking bid is that plus one increment.

Reserve Price

A reserve is the minimum price the seller (consignor) is willing to accept and below which the seller’s property will not be sold.  The seller (consignor) assigns an appropriate reserve, which is confidential.  Unless otherwise indicated, property sold at VA is offered subject to a reserve.
